It is with mixed emotions that we announce that we are closing the Village Gasthaus. We have met a lot of wonderful people from all over the world, had a lot of fun, and made a lot of really great friends. We also learned a lot about German food, bier, and schnapps, along the way. While the food and bier were well received by most of those who came, the numbers weren't good enough to keep the doors open.

The sad reality is that even in a German city like Cincinnati, there isn't much of a market for authentic German food. We aren't the first German restaurant in the area to close, and the same trend can be found around the country.

We aren't going away, however. After a few weeks of time off, expect us back with a new menu that reflects our roots and culture in the southern United States, and that will pair well with our extensive whisky bar. Our new menu will feature some of our favorite dishes from the deep south. Many of these are dishes folk here are familiar with, but many are dishes people in this part of the world have never had the pleasure of tasting.

We'll keep the web page up; look for us later in the summer!

Thanks again to all of you, for your support over the last year.

Best,

Robert and Andy
